If you are a fan of the Weston Beach Race, a competitor, an ex-competitor, or one of the thousands of spectators who make the annual pilgrimage to Weston-super-Mare to witness the UK's biggest off-road spectacle, then this site is for you.

There can be no argument that the Weston Beach Race is a unique event in the off-road motorsport calendar, but it is much more than that. Despite the attendance of some of the biggest names in the sport, the event would be just another motocross event without the hundreds of club riders who dig deep into their pockets every year to make the Weston Beach Race the amazing spectacle that it has become.

From 2005 to 2007 one of my jobs was to create the programme for the Weston Beach Race. When it came to the 25th Anniversary of the event in 2007 one of the requirements was for a history of the Weston to be included. It was then that it became apparent that there was not really any central record of the event. I don't mean the facts and figures, like who won what, and when. I mean the REAL stories behind the Weston Beach Race - about the 99% of the participants who aren't professional riders, and take up the challenge for any number of reasons.

With the event being held in such affection by so many people I feel it is essential that the experiences of those who are touched by it be recorded for posterity - hence this site.
